and about 50 or 60 Anime on VHS tapes in the garage in a few boxes, the only vhs tape I kept in mint shape is Windaria.

others I have in the garage on VHS include Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku, Ranma TV Ep. and OAV Series, Crying Freeman, and a bunch of others, but since my 4-Head Deluxe SONY Hi-Fi VCR died, I havent seen any of them in ages, I think VHS is dead so I wont buy a new VCR. Oh and I got Robotech on VHS...all of them....pretty much..and every Robotech book ever made, unopened or read.

Plus tons of other stuff I dont even need to get started on Ill never finish.

well one of us has to have the "Definitive collection!", Right?

Laserdiscs are the best ever when it comes to Japanese Anime'.....All of my friends that have seen them agree 100%.

Anime' on LD is the way to go, unless its never made on LD then DVD is the way to go..... Long Live LaserDiscs!!!!

I like the order you put them in as well, the way quality seems to drop, LD (BEST) - DVD (Decent) - SVCD (Ok) - VCD (Barely Tolerable) - VHS (The Worst ever!!) .

i'd say vhs usually looks alot better than vcd

i'd also have to say that i really want to see the criterion release of akira now

lastly i'd like to say that much as i really want to see angels egg and avalon i object quite strongly to paying 70$+ apiece for them

Give it a few years and VHS will start to degrade while VCD will be the same since it's digitized.

Exactly MasterAkumaMatata!! VHS along with any other magnetic tapes, degrade over time whether you watch them or not, thats why I want to get a good ATi card for my PC and record my VHS tapes that are tough to find (Like my Mega Man series) and put them on Video CDs. Plus if you were to see my Video CDs ripped from DVD you would say VHS sucks...Sizone do you live in California? If yes then feel free to drop on by and Ill show you Akira Criterion Collection.

degradation over time aside i have yet to see a decent looking vcd, svcd is bearable
