Sega Ages

This is the greatest game ever (that I played today).

It's like Wario Ware, but 2 players. It's head to head versus, but also cooperative at the same time. Hard to explain.

The basic premise is you go through levels playing mini-games. When you play 2 players, both players are playing the minigame game together, and the first one to complete the mini game first get's credit. There's also a timer, and if one of you guys don't complete the game in time, you both lose a life. You play each game 3 times on level 1, and whoever wins more times get's to pick the next minigame.

And it looks like there's a 4 player mode (can't read jap, but I'm pretty sure the 2nd option is a 4 player team thing, and hey would I be slinga if it WASN'T multitap

compatible?).

I want some more info on this, specifically how to play some of the minigames. Since it's a Sega Ages release I'm sure it's been out on some system before.

There are two Arcade games that fit the description and have similar names, which I think are also on the Sega Saturn. One of them is called "Tant-R" (released 1992), and my guess is that "Sega Ages Vol. 1: Shukudaigan Tant-R" (Saturn) is the same game.

The other is called "Ichidant-R" (released 1994), which I'm guessing is the same as the game you are talking about - "Sega Ages: Rouka ni Ichidant-R"

Tant-R was also released on Sega's Game Gear and MegaDrive consoles in 1994, and Ichidant-R was released on the MegaDrive in 1995.

EDIT - Oh, you wanted some info on how to play some of the minigames? Well, if "Ichidant-R" is the same, then you are in luck, because there is a English version (clone) on the Arcade. I played a bit of it just then, and some of the mini-games included completing a rocket by filling in the missing pieces, braking in a car to stop at the edge of a cliff, and finding which houses a thief had recently robbed. Hope this sounds familiar to you. 😉

EDIT2: And I think Sando-R (1997) is the third of the series

Ever since I got 2DO I fell in love with the series.

I think you're talking about 2DO Arukotoha Sandro-R, because A.f.i.k.w

thats the only being released..wait a sec. I was thinking of the Satakore line-up.

You were talking about the Sega ages label..so you're talking about the other one.

Im currently seeking this game because I own the other part (2DO Aruko etc..)

and it's brilliant. (it works the same). So..if you like that one, make sure you pick up 'Sandro-R' as well! I thought about doing a F.A.Q for it.

I also played it with lots of people and they all loved it.

So..describe some of the mini games on Ichidant-r, please.

Here's an idea of the games on Sandro-R.

*Getting to a date on time by switching lanes fast and avoiding red lights.

*Twisting the D pad to crunch an ice cube.

*Bashing a button to close the subway doors as a Japanese protter.

*Rotating a cube so it ends up with right way up.

*Press the button on exactly the right time to open a jar. (!)

*Planes fly by really fast, count 'em.

*Choose the right overhead perspective from a 3D scene.

*Hammer away burning floors of a flat.

*Warm up a Japanese fighter with a towel :looney

*Twisting hot air balloons with animals move around the screen, remember the right location of the animal shown at the end.

*A coin is placed under a hat. Remember the right hat. (just like the Clockwork knight 2 mini game).

Note that the Ichidant-r game came with the Sega Ages 2500 Bonanza Bros pack.

Shame those packs are only on ps2 :rant

*Warm up a Japanese fighter with a towel

That's Bruce Lee 😛

I just played Sandro-R, it's a nice update to the series, the minigames definitely are more interesting, but they left out multitap support =(

Ichidant-R has a pretty neat 4 player mode.

Some of the minigames are:

- as a bird collect apples from a tree

- matching game, only the cards are dancing monkeys

- build a rocket

- find a woman in a building

- count people in a moving train

- count fish

- take out ufos

I'm going to look for the first game in the series, hopefully that has multitap support as well. Time to update my list...

I use Kinsuke JP's list but couldn't find it..but yes it's there.

Anyone has box scans of Ichidant & Tant-r?

I was refering to "Sega Ages Vol. 1: Shukudaigan Tant-R". Tant-R and Ichidant-R are two different games, as we discussed earlier. The download does work - use windows download.

Here are the pictures of actual games:

:bow Hail!

I got Ichidant-r and Sand-r. Now it's only a matter of tracking down the first part. Btw It's kinda odd that the third part is a third party release don't you think?
