Sega CD not working

I just got my Sega CD out of the closet and am having similar problems. The most likely reason is you're not using a Sega AC adaptor. it sounds weird, but universal adaptors don't have enough power. I am pretty sure it NEEDS 10v, even though the bottom of the Sega CD says its rated as 9.

Try having just the Genesis and the power cable hooked up to the SegaCD.

I have a Model 2 SegaCD that I got from one of my friends. I couldn't get it working for the longest time, until I discovered that having any of the RCA audio cables plugged in the back (and not plugged into anything else) was the reason why it wouldn't boot.
