Sega Rally 2005 Announced for PS2

Forgoing an arcade release, Sega has announced plans to bring the third Sega Rally game exclusively to PS2 in (you guessed it) 2005. 2005 is also marks the 10th anniversary of the original game's release.

For PS2-owning Sega fans who won't get a chance to play Outrun 2, here is the game to make up for it. 🙂

Kikizo speculates that the (former) Hitmaker team is behind the game. Interestingly, they go on to say "Sources suggest Sega Rally is the first of many valuable Sega franchises in line for big comebacks." Time to start speculating...

More details concerning Sega Rally 2K5 are expected to be reveiled at TGS.

Just played OUTRUN 2 in the arcade... sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, this game owns.... can't wait for it on the xbox....

Putting it on PS2 = good move

Putting it exclusively on PS2 = stupid

It's not like it'd take that much effort to have an Xbox version of Rally.

Some more news on this game: randomly generated courses will be a feature. If done right, that could be really sweet for a racing game. Full story.
