Sonic Generations | The Third Sonic

The Concept: Early in development, the game was intended to celebrate three distinct eras: Classic, Dreamcast, and Modern. Dreamcast Sonic would have represented the Sonic Adventure era, potentially featuring gameplay mechanics inspired by those titles
Voice Acting: SEGA reached out to Ryan Drummond, the original voice of Sonic during the Adventure series and Sonic Heroes, to re-audition for the role. This highlights the intent to have a unique vocal identity for this era, distinct from the Modern Sonic voice.
Why it was cut: According to reports, the plan was abandoned due to a fundamental professional disagreement, which led Ryan Drummond to decline the opportunity.
