This release translates Steamgear Mash into English and adds native support for the Sega 3D Control Pad.
The game is already relatively English-friendly, but more english Saturn games is always better.
Most of the menu text was stored as plain ASCII, which made overwriting the Japanese kanji straightforward. I ran into some
obvious space limitations with the kanji-to-English conversion, but I've been able to work around them by creating a
custom tile font to fit more characters into the native 16x16 and 8x8 slots.
Thanks again to SEGA RPG FAN for the inspiration to try the 3d pad patching. The game actually predates the 3d control pad by about 7 months, so it threw most of the inputs away and required some work to finally capture where in memory they were stored.
The script was only 12+ lines long, but please send me any corrections as this is my first 'real' translation.
