US modem on PAL saturn?

If I bought a US saturn modem and used it on my PAL machine (with 60Hz and region free switches) would it work?

Even if I got some european software?

There should be no problem. I used a japanese XBand modem on a european Saturn with an american browser (patched to eu) and it worked!

Of course the problem would be the software CD getting it to boot on a foreign machine so either a mod chip or discswap would be required. I dont think any saturn hardware add ons are region encoded.
