Verizon brings Sega Mobile into its fold

Major carrier to add four titles to game deck; Sega Mobile partners now number six in North America.

Sega Mobile has extended its reach into the mobile marketplace via a deal with Verizon Mobile. The new arrangement will see Sega Snowboarding, Pengo, Flicky, and Fast Lane titles placed on Verizon's game deck effective February 1. The games will be available for a single-download price of $4.99 or $7.99 and a monthly-rental price of $2.99 or $4.99, both prices depending on the game.

Verizon boasts over 36 million subscribers in North America. Sega Mobile titles are already available to Sprint PCS, AT&T Wireless, ALLTEL Bell Mobility (Canada), T-Mobile U.S.A., and Qwest Wireless customers. While the company didn’t specify what additional Sega Mobile titles Verizon would carry, it did suggest these four titles were part of a deal that would see additional content migrate from the Sega Mobile catalog to Verizon.
