We had the MegaPC here in Australia in about 1993. It didn't sell very well because it cost the same to buy a 486 and a Mega Drive seperately than the 386 Mega PC.

I remember the commercial - a kid was playing Sonic and his business-suited dad comes in and kicks him off to work on a spreadsheet.

I reckon that commerical turned most kids off the idea.

they had something similar in korea, but with a famicom. it was unlicensed, but they managed to advertise it on like major magazines and newspapers. i really wanted one for some reason. it was a mini-tower with a slot for famicom cartridges and it came with wireless famicom-ish controllers. it just looked so cool. probably didnt sell very well, though.
