Where does the second metal bracket go?

I'm talking about the little bracket with the four spring clips like on a remote control battery cover. It's got a little hole in it too. Anyone know where it goes?

Is it the one you have to place at the connection between the Genesis and SegaCD ?

that little one was kooky, it went over one of the vent holes on the bottom of the genny or something weird like that.

All right, I got it. It clips into two sets of ventilation holes on the bottom of the Genesis. Now the real question is, what the hell does it do?

it connects the shielding above the vent to the shielding plate, increasing the shielding's effect.

works fine without any clips or shielding plates, tho.
