Action Replay 4M Plus

Hello everyone.

I recently acquired a Action Replay 4M Plus for Saturn, and I've also just recently acquired a copy of Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter knowing that it needs a 4MB RAM cart to play.

Problem though, when I boot Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter it will only display a screen with mostly Japanese text. The only thing I can understand on it is '4M' followed by more Japanese text highlighted in blue. If I press a button it takes me back to the Saturn dash.

It doesn't take a mental giant to work out it's an error message so I assume it doesn't like the Action Replay for some reason.

So would anyone know what might be the problem? Maybe the 4MB cart in the AR doesn't support this game? Or maybe it's faulty? Or maybe it's my Saturn? (Which is a PAL machine, if that means anything to anyone)

Any light anyone can shed on this for me would be appreciated.

Usually this means that the AR4M Plus is one of the earlier ones where they screwed up the cartridge ID. That is, the game thinks it's a 1MB RAM cart. There is a mod to the cart to fix the cartridge ID here

Ah, thanks for the info. If this is what the problem is that mod looks simple enough for me to do myself.

Quite annoying though, I only just bought it brand new from Lik-Sang two weeks ago.
