"All your base are belong to us"

Hey Guys,

Where does "All your base are belong to us" come from?? I have no idea what the joke is about this phrase. I'm not l33t or anything. Is it an online phrase used in multiplayer games like Warcraft?

Also, are there any other phrases I should be aware of on these kind of boards? Thanks, I know this is a stupid newb question, but I gots to know...

It's hax0r talk for "elite."

Also refer to: "1337" or "31337"

as in: "i am teh 1337 hax0r, my computar is on teh intarweb!!!1" :cheers

On set they began to say "Jigawatt", but then realized "Gigawatt" was the correct pornounciation, although left it as "jigawatt" because it sounded cool

It's 1000 kilowatts... think of 90-100 decent sized tv's being powered on at the same time....

...

I'm sure I'm wrong. That sounds awfully wrong.

No, 1,000 kW = 1 MW (1 Megawatt).

So, 1,000 MW = 1 GW.

Still, only ~3 GW? That's not alot for time travel.

ah thanks for the clarification, so it's 1000 tvs at once, or the power they use up within an hour.... the whole kilowatt hour thing confuses me. When a tv has a rating of 115 watts is that per hour?

edit, no it's simply the length of time it's used right? i'm gonna go read a book.

Dude I think it was 1.21 "Jigawatts" that they needed.
