Baseball

Bare with me. I wanna talk about baseball for a moment.

I am in Chicago. Tonight our team has a chance at the World Series.

Imagine this: the score was 3 to 0 -- CUbs wining. A kid reaching for a foul ball prevents a player from catching the ball. Everyone boos the kid (about 20 years old), the cameras all zoom in on him.

Anyway, the Marlins go on to score EIGHT runs in the same inning. It is now the bottom of the ninth as I write this. Every few minutes they put the TV cameras back on the kid who botched the play.

Ok, is that right or wrong? Is this kid gonna commit suicide or get beat up as he tries to exit the stadium? Poor chump.

CUbs lost. All the runs were scores immediately after the incident during that same inning.

Security to escorted the kid out of the stadium for his own protection.

I bet he never watches baseball again.

What Cubs fans should be mad with is Gonzalez booting the double play. That ball the kid touched was fair game. But booting that double play is what turned the game around, not the kid reaching for the ball.

Personally, I'm not sure Alou would've got it even if the kid didn't touch it. But that little pop to the left was a gimme.

sure, it wasn't such a big deal -- just one out, but it was all downhill after that interference... it was the little spark that burned down the city.

Cubs were only 5 outs away from a shutout and the World Series. I bet that kid is at home puking right now. :puke:

I'll admit that after that mis-play, Pryor was a bit off (man, he was hot the whole night up until that point).

But I still say that missed double play was the game. They already had one out.

Poor guy. All he wanted was a ball.

People get way to into the stupid game. I mean maybe even if he did make the cubs lose, it's not a huge deal. It's a game.

I couldn't imagine what it's like to have a whole city angry at you. AND to have your face all over tv, so they know exactly who you are.

What's he gonna do now? :eek:mg:

(Additional notes: The guys hands did go over the wall as he reached for the ball. The breakdown was as follows:

Marlins: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 8 0 = 8

Cubs: 1 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 0 = 3

and it happened in the inning where the Marlins got 8 ...ouch).

all I have to say, they showed him on fox and on sportscenter..... he was soaked in beer, and that guy is probably gettin raped right now....lol

seriously, though that play led to a bunch of miscues by the cubbies, wow.... what a crazzy game...wow.

Maybe get a sex-change.

lmao... wow they had to escort the guy out with security... man he is gonna be a wanted man in chicago, he better pray that they win tommorow...lol

Reminds me of the movie rat race where in the coach made that decision and everybody wanted to kill him because of it.

Yeah really. He coaches junior baseball I mean c'mon on top of being hated by almost every cubs fan, he's also a good person. That just sucks. Poor guy.

I can not believe the Cubs may end up losing the series. After being up 3 games to 1, they are now losing game 7. At least the Sox were never winning their series. Looks as if the Battle of the Curses may not happen. Heres to hope. :beerchug
