IGN says...
Resident Evil 4
Still only on GameCube.
January 06, 2004 - Last week, rumors circulated among media outlets, fan sites, and forums that Resident Evil 4 was no longer exclusive to the GameCube. This would be sad news indeed, since RE4 was announced as one of the Capcom Five (of which we've already seen the death of one project, Dead Phoenix). However, we went to the source, Capcom, to find out whether there was any validity to these rumors. A Capcom representative told IGNcube today that Resident Evil 4 is wholly exclusive to the GameCube (which means it won't be showing up on other consoles).
RE4 is the long awaited fourth installment of Capcom's "Survival Horror" series, which follows the tale of Resident Evil 2 survivor Leon S. Kennedy's quest to wipe out the Umbrella corporation. As he delves deeper into the corporation, Leon discovers that he may be the next subject in the company's genetic mutation research. RE4 will also be the first installment in the series that's in true 3D -- keeping the REmake's stunning visuals while losing the stagnant environments.
Capcom remains quiet about further RE4 details, including the release date. IGNcube will fill you in on any new info as soon as Capcom reveals more juicy tidbits.
- Good to hear. Gamecube rocks! 🙂
