Saturn emulator on Switch found inside Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute and hacked to work with any game

"Recently someone over on GBATemp figured out that all 3 games in the recently released "Cotton Guardian Force Saturn Tribute" for Nintendo Switch are being handled through a currently unknown Sega Saturn emulator.

Additionally the 3 standalone releases for "Cotton Boomerang", "Cotton 2", and "Guardian Force" are also using this emulator."

Really? That's been dead for what, 17 years? City Connection would have had to contact Shinya Miyamoto for the source code (I assume the copyright would have reverted to him after Sega abandoned cyberdisc) and then do a ton of work to it, as iirc it had quite a lot of issues.

Someone in that gba thread thinks it's SSF due to a bug similarity in one of the games.
