Unreleased Saturn game demo !!!

We are proud to release a demo of an unpublished shoot them up.

The game is called Lightning Gunner and was developed by E.O. Imagination with the Saturn Game Basic.

Played! That is a very interesting demo.

Saturn Game Basic seems pretty nifty. It can obviously handle full 3D, light shading, rotating scroll backgrounds, and sequence-type music. All of that is used pretty well in the demo.

But what exactly causes the demo's somewhat slow speed? I mean, it's not _slowdown_ per se, it's just that the game runs at a slow pace on my Saturn.

I wonder how much work that demo took...it certainly is impressive. The music is pretty spiffy and the map art and ships are all pretty decent.

I also wonder how the flashing transparent shadows and jet flares are done. Is there a 'flashing sprite' feature, or do you have to manually time to hide and show the sprites yourself...

Awesome screenshots, vbt! However, please use PNG instead of JPEG next time; it should give you higher quality at a smaller filesize. 🙂
