Anybody have GMail yet?

I got it two days ago. (RexDart@gmail.com) I still haven't used it much, as I don't get very much e-mail to begin with, and my old account is doing an okay job of storing the stuff I get.

An article I read on the dangers of Gmail did make me a bit paranoid about it. You know they keep copies of all the e-mail you get, even after you delete it? Kinda weird...

Someone told me about but I could not find it. I would get a GMail Address, but already have A Segaxtreme.Net address.

yahoo increased both my accounts to 100megs and attachments can be 10megs... while not a gig of space, I still keep my old e-mail address and I get free space : )

well I'm hoping I can get a decent username at gmail though.

racket and even racketboy, for some reason, is already taken everywhere else. At hotmail I have racketboynick (too long) and at Yahoo I have racketnick (which doesn't seem right)

I have 2 account from http://www.gmailswap.com/

just request a trade.. i actually offered Shaq-Fu for one of my accounts, that and never to use hotmail again, all the wanted was for me never to use hotmail again. Great things he sent me one for me and my bro.. and got both are nicks.

You should see how shamelessly people are trying to sell GMail account names on ebay

Here's a classic pitch:

If you are a serious movie director this name is for you. Now you can own moviedirector@gmail.com. There are hundreds of thousands of aspiring filmmakers, this is your chance to be the only one with an email address that sets you apart. What's more impressive than having that address on a business card? The chance is yours. Get your account instantly

This is trully a great name. The potential is endless. Go to moviedirector.com and see what you see. Imagine Entertainment. They appreciate what a great name this is, and are a large film and television company.

Buy this name now. Once Gmail launches and people realize there are no good names left, the price of a name like this will rise dramatically. Now it's your chance to get this unique name.

Please email me at gjg554@msn.com if you are interested and want more information. The future is now. Gmail is the way to go

eeh -- they didn't have my usernames either other than racketboy, but I'd rather have an SX address for that.

I have GMail ^o^

I was going to sign up for it today, but apparently it's like a beta that you have to get into. Maybe it's better that I didn't get into that beta, GMail would be too sexy with both of us there. :p

But I did ditch my hotmail account for yahoo. Hotmail sucks in so many ways.

One, the storage limits are ridiculous. 1MB Attatchments. 2MB of E-Mail? That can fill up in a day, what with these assholes sending fake undeliverable mail messages with 1MB attatchments. Secondly the Junk Mail folder. A lot of my regular mail goes there even when the filters aren't aggressive. Moreover, did the people at hotmail ever think that maybe I want to receive pornographic e-mails? Now I've got to click twice to get hotmail to unhide the image that someone took time out of their busy schedule to share with me. It's an insult to the them and an inconvenience to me. Third the display setup when you sign in, after all the msn banners load, you get to a screen and tells you a)how much new mail is in your inbox, b)how many of your contacts sent you mail, and c)your junk mail (which is usually mail I get from people from eBay or GameFAQs-not junk). It should just put all that in one folder and bring me there, dammit. I don't care who sent me a message, I'll find out soon enough when I open the mail....Anyway I'll cut my rant short, even I'm getting sick of complaining.

Personally, I've never understood the attraction of web-based email. Give me a good mail client any day of the week.

I still check my Hotmail and Yahoo with a mail client.

I only use the web interface away from my machines.

Hotmail will be getting a boost to 250MB this fall -- not sure why they are waiting

I don't think I'm going to bother with Gmail. I thought about it, but I don't need that kind of space. On top of that, they are out there to make money, and some of their methods are a bit more aggressive than other companies.
