Are 2D Fighters Going Downhill?

Anybody played any of the newer fighters like the Rumble Fish?

Wow, wait a go reviving an old topic and makeing me read through it >< and how did a thread about 2d fighters going the plop turn it a discussion about retro gaming

We in Australia must be really behind the ball because that Capom Fighters Jam came out not that long ago, It fully sucks - just placing like 4 engines in one with uneditied sprites.

Anyway I am a big fan of the 2D genre and 2D Fighters are my favourite, I have not played Rumble fish - knowing my luck I will not play it until this time next year ><

I will Just have to be content with KOF98. You mentioned that Capcom and Playmore have given up or something and Sammy are the only ones trying, I would have to disagree with that well mabey in Capcom's instance it is true but GGXXX or whatever it is now is just eye candy.

I just got the MVS version of CVS Chaos as well as the PS2 version, needless to say the PS2 version was returned back to the store within hours.
