Ok but how would they detect it if i did it other than me bursting through microsucks lobby, melting through gate's solid gold door with 3 pc's in arm and showing him the act.
With WinXP if you have a retail version you have to register the cdkey online (or over the phone) to your particular PC. And if say you go to WindowsUpdate to get stuff it can tell that the same key has been used on different machines.
And yes having only purchased one copy of Windows and installing it on multiple PC's is illegal. Same as if you bought a DVD movie and copied it for your friends. One is just easier to do but no less illegal than the other.
BTW you only paid for a license to use the copy of Windows you have ONCE. It's that big piece of paper in the CD package and the loads of text you didn't bother to read.
Now back to Mac's. Why does a Mac have to take 2 minutes loading a friggin emulator to run 2 year old software that should run right away on the uber "fast" G5? Oh and BTW each of these paid updates Apple loves releasing is what we call in the Windows world a Service Pack. Gotta love marketing.
