King of fighters 97 problem...

After downloading it, i made sure it was for a US saturn with the satconv. Once it was burned, i popped in the system, did the disc swapp and everything seemed fine. Then it got to this blue screen with japanese writing. The only english words were the word 'Ram' twice. I tried pressing the arrow keys and buttons but nothing happened. It just stopped there. Any ideas?

King of Fighters 97 needs a 1MB RAM cart to run.

No, there were special RAM cartridges for certain games. They come as part of the Action Replay 4 in 1 and 5 in 1 cards, and half a dozen other such devices.

This RAM is different from the stuff you use to save game progress.

Damn, my bad. I thought you meant a memory cartridge. Oh well, thanks for the info.

BTW, there are also ROM carts, but only 2 games require it according to Shin Force's RAM Compatibility page.

Also certain ram cart games don't always work well with the 4 or 5 in 1 carts

AFAIK, a few games suffer from a little graphical corruption, but nothing major.
