My wife is addicted to Ms. Pacman Maze Madness

The title says it all.

My wife was asking for a recommendation for a good Dreamcast game for her to play.

I knew she like puzzle games and platformers. Ms. Pacman Maze Madness caught my eye especially since we hadn't gotten much use out of it other than a round of multiplayer.

Anyway, she started playing the 1P mode at about 6:30pm that night. She hardly put it down until 2:30am. The next day I call her while I'm at work and she nicely complained that she had to pause her game to answer the phone. Last night she only paused it to catch parts of the season finale of the bachelor.

She hasn't had this much of a gaming session since she got Donkey Kong Country (the original SNES) for Christmas when she was younger and beat it that day.

I have to admit the game does look very cool. She even let me try some of the bonus levels and and boss battles. I'm not a platform fan, but this is unique enough to be cool.

Anyway, I'm glad she's enjoying some extra Dreamcast goodness. And I just thought you guys might be interested in hearing about a little-known game that should be worth its small price.

its all good my wife loves that disney chip n dale, racing

(crash bandicoot/mariokart) type game, man its a good thing i have 3 dreamcasts, so she can play and not bother me... sweeeeeeeeeeet :agree

Hey, my girlfriend, (yeah were together, she cried like crazy when i told her i was going to break up with her and she has been a lot better lately) is a sims junkie. She plays that everyday for hours and when her computer finaly screwed up, she went nuts. She has all the addons and the ps2 version. Plus a million different skins and houses. Its maddness! I wish she would play more games though. We would have a better time together. Im not allowed to beat her at fighting games for some reason.

Yeah I try to get my wife into fighting games, but she always gets frustrated/mad when I beat her.

Then she got really steamed when I told her to use the "Easy" mode on MvC2. (which isn't that big of a deal).

Me and my wife pretty much play only nintendo games together, although there is a few exceptions. Primarily we'll play Super Smash Brothers, switch off at Mario Sunshine, Mario Kart once in awhile, and quite a bit of Super Monkey Ball 2. I highly recommend Super Monkey Ball 2, very addicting multiplayer game. 😀 Although I've never seen anyone beat Super Mario World faster then she can, she can do it in like 3 hours starting from the beginning.

I've noticed that its hard to get girls into games, but when you finally find one they love they never put it down. Crazy women :huh

My favorite game to play against my gf (my ex now, but when we were going out...) was Death tank on saturn. I totally kicked her ass every game and it was hilarious to see how mad she got, especially when I taunted her (hovercoil rules for this, those of you who've played it)

As for my chick friends simple games like Mario party minigames are what they go for. I've found that gaming controls have to be simple for girls to give it a real chance...otherwise they get frusterated quick and give up. I'm generalizing of course, there are those few gamer girls who kick ass at games and put real time into them.

Hey, you never did update us on that... 😛 Well it sounds like you're happier in the relationship so congrats, I guess it took you breaking up with her for her to be nicer to you. Well, like I said, women are crazy.

I can't believe you said that! 🙄

Yea, fighting games are one of the least popular gaming genres amount girls (from what I've seen anyway...) They seem to take losing at fighting games the more personally than other genres. I tried playing DOA3 against my gf but I could predict every move so it pissed her off that I could counter everything she threw at me. She never did like my suggestions for fighting games before that though, so I donno. Maybe I'm just too damn good

That's the thing. You have to get them when they're young.

Em hasn't quite got the hang of Sonic Adventure quite yet, but I'm working on it.

She's pretty good at Monkey Race (Super Monkey Ball) though. :thumbs-up:

My wife is pretty big into games. Sonic, Mario, SSX are popular with her. But her favorite is Bust a Move

Oh yeah, I forgot Bust-A-Move. She likes that one too, although she always thinks I'm letting her win when I'm really not (I kind of suck at puzzle games - fast paced ones anyway- I'm horrible at Puzzle Fighter).

I have found memories of beating my first gf (and her friends) in bomberman, death tank, fire pro, and winter heat. I never had another gf who really played video games =(

my wife is now addicted to Virtua Tennis/Tennis 2K2.

she's been playing it for a few hours straight almost every day now.

Luckly she puts it down just long enough at night for me to play some Skies of Arcadia 🙂
