I don't know if I would recommend a pocket/portable pc for taking notes on. If you have a keyboard it may be different, never used one. I have always prefered the paper/pen approach. I've never used my laptop for this work. To difficult with a lack of electric outlets. My wife used this for tracking class schedules and grades. Also she used it for teachers and students phone numbers.
