Sega Channel Device

I may be stupid for asking this... but I haven't seen any definitive threads yet...

Do you think the sega Channel adaptor could be used for loading roms from a PC? Like a Multi Game Hunter or other ROM loading device? What type of adaptors have come from experimentation to send info through a cable adaptor?

I'm curious if the sega channel adapter could be considered one of the first cable modems. I also wonder how many kps it could be capable of? ... or maybe even Mbs?
