First off, I've also posted this on Reddit. I apologize if I seem to be spamming, but I am truly desperate right now.
Here's the situation:
It has been my childhood dream to play this game and finish it. I started teaching myself Japanese a few years back and figured I could just play the Japanese version now that I could read the language.
I went through Scenario 1 and the better part of Scenario 2 without a hitch, but this crash has made it impossible for me to proceed. It felt like the end of the world to me because my dream to finish the game was crushed.
Incidentally, I am at the point where Medion and the gang just entered Swampland and are probably going to fight some gigantic venomous worm or something.
I tried loading the save file using other roms downloaded from different sources, and it still froze.
I also tried using Mednafen to play the game using the save file to no avail. I still froze at the exact same spot.
Now, I am trying to convert my save to the format that Yabasanshiro recognizes, but I haven't had luck yet.
My save file is attached. Could anyone please help me with this? Thank you so much!

I messed around with save file conversion and loading my save with different cores. Sometimes, the core (Yabause, Kronos, etc.) wouldn't read my save, sometimes, it would. I honestly had no clue what I was doing. In any case, I finally successfully loaded a converted save with Yabause and voila! I was able to initiate the battle! The game did not freeze this time around!
I think I just might be able to fulfill this particular childhood dream after all! Cheers!
