Strange screen behavior WHILE CD is loading

Gentlemen,

Recently I got a japanese Saturn Model 1 64pin modded

and it works like a charm, however, while the CD is loading

the image presents a small (but noticeable to neat eyes)

ammount of interference. It follows exactly during the 'loading time'

of the CD unit.

If I turn on the Saturn with no CDs, there is no intereference.

If I turn on with a CD, right on the open animation screen

(when the logo gets mounted by several moving pieces) I already

notice the "ghosts in the image".

But, after the loading get complete, and inside the game (when

the CD is not reading AUDIO tracks) the interference disappears.

What it could be?

Someone have a similar kind of problem before?

I am afraid that my CD unit is going to die!

PS. Tried several AV cables --- definetely it's not the cables,

neither the TV, since only happens when it rains, ooops, loads!

Cheers,

Thanks!

C.

First off, welcome to segaxtreme! I notice this is your first post.

Anyway, this does sound like interference. Have you opened your Saturn and looked at it yet? You pointed out that is a modified Saturn, have you checked the work that was done to the Saturn? It may be a simple fix after all.

Thanks Dibz for your kind words!

This forum look like a superb place to learn

more about Saturn and Dreamcast.

I installed the MOD by myself, and even before doing it, the

problem was already there (on my all original JAP games).

I will open the unit again and check if something is "touching"

something else inside the boards.

Crossed fingers!

Cheers,

C.
