Waialae no Kiseki Extra 36 Holes — English Toggle Patch

Waialae no Kiseki ("Miracle of Waialae") is a semi-sequel to Pebble Beach Golf Links, minus Craig Stadler. While an N64 version exists, the Saturn release is unique for its flyover cutscenes and Japanese voiceovers. I've found a 1-byte switch (0x48 to 0x54) in the boot dispatcher that enables a latent English mode already present on the disc, effectively giving us the "Pebble Beach 2" we never got in the West. Every menu is fully translated, even the title screen, signaling an English localization was likely tee'd up for release but never happened.

I had no idea this had an English translation hiding in it! Thanks for making a patch and a thread about it. How did you find this?

Just got lucky while poking around. I've been lurking for a while and wanted to try a first-time translation to get a hang of the workflow. Noticed the "E" binaries on the disc and tried forcing the jump in the bootloader. Simpler than I thought it would be, but I have a lot of the basics together now. Hoping to find some other low hanging fruit.
