not the best selection of saturn titles here, but out of those I would say astal. I am sure the right answer is probably nights into dreams though 😛
I dont know... nights is a game I have not yet had the liberty to enjoy.

Strangely enough I always loved Sonic R, from the ones listed here it was tough between it and Megamix but cool to see there was another person who also agreed 😀

I must have told this story a million times by now. But I guess Ill share it again, for those who might be unaware. But when I was younger. I put a bid on ebay for panzer dragoon saga for $150. The seller contacted me personally. What was most encouraging to me was that he was a christian and he was getting married. He sold it off to me and even gave me xmen vs street fighter with the 4mb cart as a bonus. I found the experience of the game itself a little underwhelming at first, I am not or never was much of an rpg fan. My cousin was a big into rpg's and as for myself, I hardly had the attention span for standard fast paced games. Well with age comes maturity, and while I am not yet at my best, I feel like I am getting better. Anyways, later along the years I did eventually playthrough the game and I even shared it on youtube at one point but I deleted it for whatever reason. Its great story, interesting and unique game mechanics, not what you would expect from a typical rpg. To me saga was what ff7 was to the playstation. Its a staple to the rpg genre. I personally prefer the original game style better. I think with orta they were starting to get into something great. I really would like to see the series advance, maybe even into a fully immersive mmorpg kind of game. I still got to get through dragon force and the shining force games, not to mention shining widom etc

Not something on this list imo. Not that they're awful or anything. Probably Panzer Dragoon Zwei for me personally.

Of the list here I voted for Sega Rally. It's short but there's so much depth to the gameplay. Just doing time trials is a blast, shaving seconds off is so satisfying. You absolutely need the 3D or wheel controller for it to be the most fun though. The netlink edition has slightly better draw distance.

Having grown up loving the original genesis versions Sonic Jam just throws me off lol. I'm probably just being ocd. I know the ports are only slightly off but it just doesn't feel right. Sonic 2 especially I hear something with the sound and scrolling feels choppy. The 3d world part is the best part and a a neat diversion. Sonic R has weird controls, you can get used to them, but it feels weird. Other Kart racers on other systems at the time are better imo (maybe I shouldn't say that on this website lol). Fun music and good graphics though.

Daytona's got weak graphics but the gameplay is ported perfectly from the arcade. Not a bad trade-off for an early release. Fighters Megamix and Virtua Fighter are both a ton of fun. Megamix is more for casual fun and Virtua Fighter is more for competitive, precise 3d fighting. Astal is a solid 2D platformer with great graphics and sound. My only gripe is that annoyingly there's no saving, better have over an hour clear when you boot it up. Nights is great arcade action, chaining together high scores is challenging and fun.

But if you ask me there's lots of games in the running for best on the Saturn that are missing from this list. Virtua Fighter 2 should be here over Virtua Fighter for starters. You're missing essential exclusives like Die Hard Arcade, the 3 Panzer Dragoons, RPGs like Shining Force 3, Grandia and the Dragonforces, and a ton of shmups like Galactic Attack, Radiant Silvergun, Battle Garegga and Batsugun.

You're also missing multiplats. Plenty of people's favorite Saturn game is probably stuff like Tomb Raider, Powerslave, Resident Evil, Rayman, Castlevania SOTN or any of the Capcom fighters. Then there's more niche stuff that some people absolutely love that would get some votes on a site like this like Elevator Action Returns, Saturn Bomberman, Bulk Slash, Gungriffons, Psychic Killer Toromaru, both Dungeons and Dragons and just tons more shmups (Blast Wind, Thunderforces, Terra Diver, Darius Gaiden the list goes on forever lol). Arcade Ports? Virtua Cops, House of the Dead, Virtua On, Outrun, Space Harrier, Afterburner, fighters like Last Bronx Fighting Vipers and so on.

I`m rpg guy so all above mentioned classics. I recently enjoy a lot Vandal Hearts, i hope some translations of japanese rpgs gonna be available in future. Keeping fingers crossed. Oh yes, we Shinning Force without a doubt is my pick.

Panzer Dragoon series , Three Dirty Dwarves, Burning Rangers, Earthworm Jim 2 should be on this list. But , either 3 Dirty Dwarves or any of the Panzer Dragoon games should be part of the top 5 easily, with Burning Rangers in tow

that three dirty dwarves game I think got it perfect, I really would have liked that to be how guardian heroes did it. It was more of an inconvience than a cool gameplay feature. Honestly if somebody could somehow program guardian heroes like they did it on three dirty dwarves they would have much better game.
