ah, chihuahua found a CDX!

:hehehe: i have found my whole sega collection in the most strange places.

while cruising a huge used-items market (bazar/flea market/ the biggest

you might think) i found this CDX serial number Y40 040333, lying in the ground with a bunch of broken discmans, bruised, without the battery cover, al covered with dirt. it costed about $9.00 USD. when i got home and after cleaning time, hooked it to my TV and voila! game cartridges work just fine, and cd's have some trouble loading (about 10 seconds between stages in sonic cd) but again what you

expect for 9 USD?

how can i access the ram and format it just like a sega cd?

does someone know what is the part numbet for the cdx ac adaptor?

i'm running it using a sega 10 v .850 A power supply and it gets somewhat warm

where can i find the cdx manual?

does anyone know if i can run games on it using just batteries?

thanks in advance for your help, even if it gets toasted tomorrow i've had the

pleasure of playing my own cdx, isn't that great? ;)

Nice find! You can access the RAM by booting it up without a cd. You'll get a menu where you can select it. (You need to feed by a CR2032 battery!)

Dunno if it also runs games on batteries, never tried it :)

I would use a cd cleaner disc (a CD with little brushes on it) I used one on mine and it did wonders!

Success :cheers

Power Supply:

Model # MK-4122

Input: 120 V AC 60 Hz 23 Watt

Output: 9.5 V DC 1.5 amp

Last I checked it used the same ac adaptor as the Genesis Model 2. If your like me you've got a ton sitting around.
