CDRWIN problem when opening .CUE file, HELP Needed

I've just downloaded the game last bronx and ended up with the following files:

when I tried to load the cue file in CDRWIN it gave me the following error message:

"Error: 'START DAO RECORDING' command failed on device 2:2:0 Cuesheet was rejected by the CDROM Recorder'

I tried loading and burning it using Fireburner, but it kept on spitting out the cd, so I thought it might have been the media which was causing the error but it wasnt seeing that i tried different types.

So has anyone on this message board, had the same problem that I am currently having, or know how I can solve this problem?

Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

correct me if im wrong, but you might want to try changing the cuesheet to read:

TRACK 01 MODE1/2048

i think its : mode1/2048 and mode2/2352

NO!!! It's supposed to be 2352. That means the bin is in "raw" format, meaning the sectors include error-correction information. Ordinary ISO tracks with 2048 bytes per sector contain the actual data only.

Anyway... with CDRWin, did you turn OFF the RAW option before attempting to burn? I know that may not seem obvious with a raw bin/cue image, but some CD recorders will not burn in RAW mode, at least with CDRWin. The burn will come out fine nonetheless.

The cuesheet looks perfectly fine, there should be no problem with it...

The only other possibility I can think of is that CDRWin and your recorder simply aren't compatible. Two other apps I know of being capable of burning bin/cue images are Nero and BlindWrite.

UPDATE!

I said the cuesheet looked fine to me but I was wrong.

Look at Track 2. There's a pregap of 3 seconds (00:03:00) with the actual track starting at 00:06:73.

That would mean that Track 1 is less than 4 seconds in length which is clearly not right!!! Any track must be at least 6 seconds long, otherwise it is illegal (outside the CD spec)... So now we know why the cuesheet is rejected.

The problem is, where to get a FIXED cuesheet for this bin... I'll leave this up to others who dealt with this game before...

Does anyone have the CUE file for LAST BRONX?

If so could you post it in this post, by opening it in notepad and copying and pasting it here.

Here's what I have, made by creating an image in Nero and converting to bin/cue with CDMage:

Actually, track 1 is 00:06:73 long and track 2 is 08:16:61 long. Therefore, it's not an issue with the data tracks being less than 4 seconds as they are both compliant. I believe it's simply an issue with Triad's burner not being able to burn dual data track images using a cue sheet. The cue sheet I have looks the same as his with the minor differences in the time indexes of the 2 second pauses between the audio tracks (difference of 1 frame of time or 1/75th of a second since 75 frames = 1 second). Yes, both data tracks are raw on my cue sheet. My 2 year-old burner was able to burn this game fine; tested on my modded Saturn and it plays fine too. What burner (brand and model) do you have, Triad?

Actually, to burn this you need a combination of program-burner-drivers. It's not a burner problem only (learn that from my old external hp 8230).

Why don't you try to put your cuesheet to cdrwin 5 or nero or fireburner?

If nothing works, this cue seems to work for many people :

FILE "LASTBRONXCD1ARCADE.BIN" BINARY

TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

INDEX 01 00:00:00

TRACK 02 MODE1/2352

PREGAP 00:03:00

INDEX 01 00:06:73

TRACK 03 AUDIO

PREGAP 00:02:00

INDEX 01 08:23:59

...

We need to put this problem into a faq, there are a lot of questions about this topic.

Assuming that the cuesheet that Triad has is from the same rip as the bin, how can it possibly be wrong? Why would someone edit it afterwards?

I just wish I knew more about PCs and hardware/driver issues. This problem with dual data track games seems to be much more common these days.

I used to be a Mac user until making the journey to the 'dark side'™ a couple of years ago :

: .

I still have a lot to learn.

just downloaded CDRWIN 5, but dont have a clue on how to load the cue sheet in this program

seeing that the layout looks completely different.

Gear, do u use CDRWIN 5? if so do u know how to load a cuesheet in this program?

CDRwin 5 is NOT made by the same people that made the CDRwin that you are familiar with, it's a ripoff on the CDRwin name.

those sellout bastards

amazing...even I never cease to learn stuff.

here I really thought I had nailed it with the first track being under 4 seconds... I didn't think that it was OK for *data* tracks to be that short. So yeah... it has GOT to be a problem with the particular burner/software combination, although I don't really see how a burner could be incapable of burning dual data tracks if it can burn regular mixed-mode CDs (one data track) fine.

Ohwell. To the original poster, I hope you eventually succeed.

Actually, modifying the MODE for the 2nd data track to MODE1 on the cue sheet didn't work; I've just sacrificed a CD-R (successful burn BTW) to find out it just hangs there in a blank screen after booting up.

The first data track (MODE1) is roughly 7 seconds long meaning it holds about 1 MB of data. The 2nd data track (MODE2) is over 8 minutes long and holds about 72.7 MB of data. This implies almost all of the game data (including about 46 MB of True Motion Video *.AVI) is stored in the 2nd data track (MODE2). Burning the 2nd data track incorrectly (i.e., changing its MODE) is most likely the cause for the game to hang after booting up.

After all this I'm guessing that the problem may be with your burner and the 'raw' data tracks.

Try loading up the cue in the latest beta of CDMage and then using the 'Save as' function. It gives you the option to resave the data tracks within bin/cue with different sector sizes. Experiment with changing the first data track to Mode 1/2048. If that doesn't work maybe also change the second data track to Mode 2/2336.

As I say I'm guessing, but it is worth a try.

antime was your cuesheet from a US or Euro version of Last Bronx?
