I think i've scared myself for life...

I'm sorry for this seemingly random post but after listening to a lot of japanese pop music i'll never be the same... EVER! When i first played DDR i was like "woah this shit's weird" Then my friend bringers over his cd that his cousin burned him while she was in japan. ...It's distrubing stuff. Ok lets make a list here.

(A) all the women sound the same.

have you ever heard them try to sing in english? It sounds like the guy who made zero wing was an english major.

( c )translated, some of this stuff means nothing! It's like "My body is so sad, but i hope that you are not. My wings will carry me away" All in a happy tone that would imply they belong in a mental instituion.

Is it just me or does anyone else find popular japanese music to be.. unsettling? Sorry if this post seems like it's just taking up board space but i gotta know if i'm the only one who thinks this.

Jet Grind Radio's stuff is a little funky, but not too bad. Doesn't make much sense though. Although what pop music does ?

At least there's a little Rob Zombie in the US version to give a little different feel.

i know techno is fast

just check out some german shit you'll know what i mean.

if they have an import section at your local store then check out club rotation (if they have it ) - that a good compilation

it just seems to me they have an extra beat compared to "other techno" ive listen to -- oh! like some english techno

sure not all of it -- im refering to the music on the ddr machines and some other jpop ive listend to

i know some people like very fast beats - why else would some places list beats per minute

ill try to come up with some examples

after i come back from my vacation (unless i just happen to come across something now) ( youll have a beter understanding of what i mean - if your still interested then)

- going to a place with no phones or tvs

Well, as far as translations go, some songs don't make sence probably because the person who translates them usualy screws it up. As an example, in Chinese there are many small but diffrent words which mean the same thing. Just each way has a slighty diffrent slant on it. One could be ment to accuse someone of something, while another could mean the same thing as a retorical or sarcastic remark. There are also rules that are similar like in english. For instance, you can refure to your happyness as a feeling, or as an object (I feel happy VS You give me happyness).

So ya, unless you learned it like you learned English its hard to pick up at first. Thats why most Subtitled Chinese movies don't make sence or match up with the actual Chinese. They ether translated wrong, or they simply made up dialog for the sake of ease (And the fact most don't know what they said in Chinese anyways to tell that its fake dialog).

thats the one thing i like about j-pop. its something different from us music which is so irritating. when j pop is in english, it just sounds so much better. even though they talk jibberish, i like it.

Nah, we make the best techno, just check out some helter skelter 12"s from your local specialist shops, then again, what americans call "techno" we call dance, techno being a subvariant of dance music, along with house, trance, goa-trance, happy hardcore..... etc.

english techno messes you right up, it sounds like chipmunks on class A drugs :)
