Fav game music (Lets keep this post going!)

I've seen more than enough posts made on the top ten greatest games and all that. But I think a big part of games are its music and the moods it can create. I've heard a lot of impressive scores over time and I'd like to know what everyones, oh say, top 5 favorite game songs/bits of music are. Describe what part the music is at if it has no name that you know of. My own are:

(In no order)

1.The theme they used for most bosses on the first Parasite eve.

2.Begining video to Panzer dragoon saga!

3.The little tune played on the continue screen on the original Blaster Master for nes.

4. The theme to Metal Gear Solid (They played it on non interactive demos).

5. The main characters theme music from Maniac mansion for the nes. Hey that was good for nintendo music that had limited capabilities.

There are a billion other ones that I favor but these are the only ones I could think of for the moment, whats yours?

i've done this before.......but still a great topic....

In no set order...

Guardian Heroes - (ALL) SATURN

Virtual On (all) SATURN

Cammy's Theme (Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold/Dash) SATURN

Speed Of Sound & Tube Panic (Chaotix) 32X

Akira's Theme - 'Burning' (Virtua Fighter 2) SATURN

Intro theme from My Merry May (dreamcast)

STHA (all) SATURN

Slingshot - Daytona USA2

a doc file? i don't know about that....

My favorites are:

Sonic 3 IceCap Zone

SOR Intro song

Phantasy Star 3 Intro Theme

Phantasy Star 4 Thray

Sonic 2 Sky Chase Zone

Though i'd like to include their orchestral counterparts, something about 'bits of music era' seems to hold me back. So in all their midi magic (and in no particular order):

1) Time's Scar. I Love ANYTHING Mitsuda. Playing in direct contrast to the bulk of the Chrono Cross soundtrack, Times Scar literally oozes passion and energy.

2) Lahan. From Xenogears fame, this piece embodies the simplicity, innocence, and naivete of Fei. Though by no means remarkable, it's got a certain charm and optimism to it that I can't help but smile at.

3) Delita's theme/Ovelia's worries. Though not strictly speaking a song, it's more of a theme development. I heard this before playing FFT and to my misfortune, misguided me unto the villainy of Delita's character. The brooding nature of the prior makes him seem so freackin dark! DARK! We need more dark characters...anyway great theme.

4) I'm getting lazy here, but I'll reccomend anything by Mitsuda (Xenogears and Creid in particular) and most of Nobuo Uematsu's work. Though in my opinion less consistent than Mitsuda, Uematsu's Final Fantasy Concert is a testament to the maturty of video game music.

5) Fisherman's Horizon. I generally go for character themes, but the carefree and laid back nature of this environmental theme brings a smile to my face. Yes, another smile.

There's so much gold to mention, but i have to say, of all the sugar coated drug-induced 'happy' soundtracks i've heard, Nights takes the cake. The children, the chimes, the jazzy jives (Reala), the gameshow magic. And the laughable vocals in the main theme(?) - these kids cant even sing!...but in a good sort of way... : :

:

Jeez theres still more. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. What more can i say?

- Macross for nes (& macross: do you remember love) soundtrack :

Some of my favorites (I can't possibly remember all of them right now):

[Dreamcast[

- all of the Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 music

- Test Drive Le Mans

- first level in Ikaruga

[Saturn]

- some of the tracks from Advanced V.G.

- Radiant Silvergun and Battle Garegga (arranged soundtrack) - I took selections from both games and burned an audio CD with them, thrown in with C64 remixes and remixed mod files

- Super Sonic Racing, from Sonic R

- the music in Formula Karts SE (a PAL game) which is unusually dancey and trancey for a ... kart racer ...

And lots more I'll start remembering once I hit that submit button.
