sure, it's quite promising, here is current wip :
- foreground correct
- sprite correct
- no sound (sound chip never used before)
- not working bg
- nothing optimised (yabause says 47 fps for pal system)
- faze not yet used
little progress :
background added but some tiles are lost during intro, i don't know why.
big speed improvements, i rewrote the tilemap rendering and added scrolling support, now it needs :
- tile bank switch (wrong title)
- fix shop display ( wrong aligment)
- priority support
Glad to see this being actively worked on ! The saturn needs more emulators running on it!
So I finally got around to trying this out yesterday on my chipped Saturn. Nice job! Sure there are a lot of bugs and what not, but the Saturn is not easy to code for by any means. Very impressive !
Some (legal) advice though, you probably shouldn't be including commercial ROMs with the emulator. If you want to include some for testing purposes fine, but I highly suggest you use free legal homebrew ROMs for the bundling and just make a tool that allows users to rebuild the iso with their own ROMs to avoid a DMCA takedown festival or any other legal issues...
I'm glad to see some feedback which one have "lot of bugs" and need improvements ? which one worked well ?
sure, the main roblem is i had to rename many files, i'd have to give a mapping between mame ROMs and ROM for FBA saturn.
i'll have to play around with it some and document it when i get a chance. keep up the good work though! As for the legal issue, as I see. Me i'm still learning my way around the saturn. Although I do have a project I'm working on, I don't know if I'll even be able to pull it off, so no announcement yet, but my point is, if I was well versed on the saturn, I would offer some assistance with straightening the rom issue, but I would probably just make things worse rather than better XD

I've started to port Wiz, i may try to port tiger helli and slap fight
vbt, I'll try and do some testing for you this Sunday. I'm most likely working but I can do it after. Sunday is the only day I refuse to do any homework/studying . I can make a video documenting different bugs and stuff that I've found and throw it up on my youtube channel if you'd like. Then naturally embed the video here . If you have anything specific you want me to check let me know, otherwise I'll just document what I find....
sure you can do a video showing the bugs, but don't forget to make a video showing games working well thanks in advance !

@vbt wait a minute, something just occurred to me, does FBA utilize the additional ram carts? I've been running it with my AR unplugged which might explain the issues I've been having XD. I usually leave that cart plugged in all the time, but I unplugged it the other day (can't remember why) and have been running FBA without it....
FBA doesn't use additionnal ram
that might help, cause some of the issues i've found is lag in certain games....
maybe on some games, i use low workram so it could explain some slowdowns but on most cases everything is in hi workram.

Ah okay, so I'm working as expected. I'm working from 8am to 5pm today (US EST). I'll try and make a video for you afterwards to show off some bugs I've found (lag and graphical issues and what not) and show off some games that are fully functional as well .
I honestly don't mind doing testing for you and what not on a somewhat regular schedule (my schedule is a bit unpredictable lol), but as far as coding goes, I don't think I'd be any help. I'm still learning C as I go and don't know the Saturn that well to begin with (as far as how everything works, still learning, my experience is with other game consoles, although I know there are similarities across the board, there are still a lot of platform specific things as well). I know a while back you jokingly said in my hello world thread that I was now prepared to help you with this venture. Well that's partially true haha, I can help with testing, i'd be useless with the coding though
UPDATE: @vbt here's the video as promised. It took a long time to render last night on my crappy laptop, by the time it was done, I was too tired to wait around for it to upload, so I uploaded it this morning......

thanks SegaSaturnShrine great job ! to be fair, i'm not english, i understood start, end and hardly when you test games. about sms plus, the outrun track is fixed with sms (cz80) driver. about sg1000, depending on vdp mode it's more or less slow maybe it can be improved, i use bitmap rendering for this driver. your last game is flicky, i'd say it's working well
well, it's motivating, i did some nice progress on wiz driver, 2 games nearly complete (without sound) and 2 others displaying something.
Oh I'm sorry, unfortunately I'm not exactly bilingual and I really should be . What's your native language? Perhaps somebody will be kind enough to translate/add subtitles and reupload it. I give permission for anybody to do so if they're up to it. I support freedom of infirmation and sane IP laws...
