what career jobs are simple n good?

:damn: its so frustrating for me to figure out what career is right for me...im looking for a job that is simple not to complicated as like xray tech, computer science, chemestry teacher... give me ur opinions what carreers are good and what type of jobs do you have? hmmm...... :huh

I'm only 16-17 and I work at a convenience store. :thumbs-up: My considerations right now for after highschool:

Crime Scene Cleaner-

There was a guy on the radio talking about this. He'd been doing it for ten years and he was making 180,000 a year! All he has to do is scrape brains off the floor!

Forklift Operator-

If they actually race every morning before working, than that's it, I'm going to be a forklift driver. :banana

EDIT: By the way I'm not joking around. I reread my post and it sounded kind of funny, so I thought I'd clarify.

Forklift operator? This isn't 1987 hong kong!

But for jobs that arent to hard? Well there's always a convience store zombie of some kind. Thats definatley what I want to do. After seeing clerks (great flick, highly reccomended) I think that I could fair well working in a shitty video store.

I havent been here for awhile... I wanna be a math teacher, yey... but for now I work at a porn website. its fun getting paid to look at porn.

You might not want to put your previous job on your CV for any maths teaching positions you apply for, if you know what I mean... ;) :puke:

First, how the hell did u get that job?

second, how much $$ u get paid to do that?

third, can you hook me up?

and fourth, I am like racket, need a little bit of both. I am thinking possably electronic engineering. I hear they make gobs of money, and I think it'll be sumthin I like to do.

Depends on what you mean by simple and good. DO you mean not a lot of people hassling you with lots of free time to play games? How about a self storage place? Free rent, cable tv, lots of free time to play games.

Or a caretaker at an Estate or large home. Same thing with just a little maintenance work.

Of coarse, if you could just keep on doing at you are doing, just expand to taking care of several sites. (free passwords available? )

just like racket said..too much isnt good..but maybe somting like maintanice..i want to have plenty time to spend on freetime..work less spend lot of freetime  self storage? hmm..do they get paid well?

thanks for info fallstaff...caretaking i didnt know there was a job like that...hmm it sounds simple n not complicated..but right now im in college ..is caretaking a major? hmm....

When I was younger, I worked for a utility company in New Jersey (PSE&G) reading meters. No degree necessary. Paid $23 an hour with incredible benefits. It was a union job and if I finished my assigned route, met certain easy requirments, all I had to show was five hours and they paid me for eight. Yeah, I only worke about 25-30 hours a week. I made more money than a lot of people with degree's make even today. :p

Yeah I used to work for a utility company too and they were ALWAYS looking for more meter readers. I guess the turnover rate was pretty high.

actually not at this company. There are lists of people waiting to get in. It's considered a very desirable job. Very stable. It is a bit physically demanding as you work outdoors all year long, rain, snow, shine. The only times we did not hit the field was when the Govenor called a state of emergency and closed the roads. That only happened once or twice a year for snow. But, if you read the same route for long enough, you got to know your "customers", got tips and gifts at holidays. I had even been invited to their kids weddings. Some of the older customers always had a hot or cool drink waiting for me depending on the season. Saw lots (!) of vintage gaming gear in basements and even had some given too me. (That's how I got my Atari 7800 with 23 games.) All in all, it was a very cool job that I really enjoyed.

I just emailed my dad about meter reader jobs -- he still works at that company.

Here's what he said:

The meter reader pay and benefits are about the worst you can get, they have a new progran if you started after a recent date the pay is lower, you are required

to use your own car, and I'm not sure about benefits.

So I guess, your milage may vary :(

well things might have changed in the 7 years since I left. But, I was considering moving back to New Jersey this past fall and contacted my old boss. He offered me a position at the same pay level and benefits package that I left with. And no loss of seniority.

Yes, new ones start off at $10.50 an hour but are at top pay in 2 and 1/2 years. Thats pretty fast. Yes you do have to use your car. Most have an older, but dependable car, they use. But the company gives you milage and a bit extra for insurance. I used an 82 Toyota Corona for years. And at times there is a company car that you have use of, especially if you volunteer for overtime on weekends or evenings.

Benefits? Everything was covered. I spend three days in the hospitol at one point for tests. Private room and it cost me zippo.

Back when I left, they were "down sizing" Office personel. A lot of them were trying to get meter reading positions, which paid more then their office jobs. Not something they would be doing if it was such a bad job.

Believe it or not, I'm currently working as a forklift driver lol. I regret to inform you that there are not shenmue style races every morning before work.

But that doesn't mean it's not a fun job. Just today, it had been raining for a few hours before the end of our shift and a lot of the rain had run inside the building. We spent the ending of the day doing donuts on the wet pavement, fun as hell.

14 dollars an hour, full benefits, paid vaca, and a never ending supply of tissues and jergen's jerkin' lotion... well not the last thing... but hey its porno. of course i cant put this on my rez, no high school would want me then

you cant work here, we are no where near utah... but you can certainly be one of our naked sluts on air... all you need is a web cam.
