I need info about the Multibios chip

I been here a while ago and read about th multibios chip that allows playing any region cds on the sega cd. Well anyway I asked if it works with the X`EYE but Arakon told me it's very hard. Now that I got a Sega CDX I was wondering if the multibios will work with it. I noticed that the bios is the same as the original Sega CD. Mine has version 2.22.

If it is possible to put a multibios chip in my CDX. How much will I have to pay excluding shipping back to me? Does the chip have the newest bios?
